Anterselva di Mezzo, Italy guide

Anterselva di Mezzo introduction

General Information
Anterselva di Mezzo is over 1,530m beyond the sea level and is unlike other towns in Italy. While many of the towns in this area are enclosed villages, this is not one of those. You will find that this village is small with only a little over six hundred people who call it home. The region consists of many speckled farms that spread out towards the Lake Anterselva, which happens to be the third largest wild lake of the South Tyrol. What really flocks tourists to the area are the wonderful things the resort has to offer. This is the largest village in the valley with many adventures to be tried and lots of fun things to do as well.

Winter Activities
Anterselva Di Mezzo has lots to offer when it comes to sports especially winter sports. The 60km cross country trail can be covered by skiing and both experienced skiers and the newbies can try it out. The Kronplatz ski area is few miles away from Anterselva which houses around 31 lifts that take to some of the high-end ski areas. The Riepenlift can be enjoyed both by the children and the novice; prospective skiers can try-out their first endeavor here. Alongside Lake Anterselva two toboggans run which assure great tobogganing experience. Snowshoe hiking and ski touring can be enjoyed in the snow-swathed valleys of Anterselva.

Summer Activities
Anterselva Di Mezzo which is encased by many glaciers and high mountain terrains is idyllic for hiking in summers. Hiking around the Lake Anterselva is recommended for both elders and the children. The Nature Reserve of Rieserferner-Ahrn offers guided hiking through the rustic mountain routes. There are many mountain lakes and rough waters flowing in the reserve together with the Wildgall and Hochgall glaciers. These hikes can get you closer to nature and also help in getting familiar with the healing properties of many herbs. Nordic Walking is another thing which could be done in summers. To assist trained Nordic guides are available at your disposal. Mountain biking is another choice for the holidayers.
