Brunico introduction

General Information
The town of Brunico or Brunick is amidst the Dolomites located at the base of the Ski-Centre Kronplatz and can be accessed through the gondola. It lies in the Pluster valley which is in the South Tyrol area and connects itself with the Stone Age. Brunico is a quaint, vivid town which has maintained its history which dates back to the medieval times in the form of some archaic walls in the urban center. There are some picturesque slopes which can well be accessed through the well organized lifts. This town belonged to the Austrian Tyrol several years back and so German influence can be attributed in the valley.

Winter Activities
The winter here seems a bit crazy as there are many things to do. Brunico is a wide resort which houses 28 lifts with nineteen gondolas, three lift chairs and six surface lifts that take the skiers up to a height of 4347 feet. Brunico has around 38 pistes which are well suited for beginners as well as for snowboarders. It has has some trails for both intermediates and skilled skiers. Cross country skiing is something Brunico provides which attracts many skiers to this resort. Other winter activities include tobogganing, ice Skating and ice Hockey. There is a rink for ice skating in the heart of the town.

Summer Activities
There are just as many summer activities to do as there are winter activities. Hiking and walking is the best one which fills your eyes with the charming scenery of the resort. There are some other resorts nearby which include Bruneck-Olang-St Vigil, Anterselva, Valli Di Tures E Aurina Ahrntal, Valdaora, and Kronplatz-Plan de Corones that can be toured. Cycling is yet another activity that takes over during the summers. Mountain biking, horse riding, mountaineering and rock climbing are some of the other activities that can be done. And for the indoors they are many wellness centers which offer swimming with a nice sauna to follow.

Other Information
The Pluster valley has many things to offer with its rich cultural heritage. There are many castles, churches and chapels which exhibit the rich history and the artistic value of the residents of Brunico. The Museum of Dietenheim and the Brunico’s Museum for graphics are a must visit. The Concordia 2000 which is well known as the bell of peace is a marvelous piece of construction which is 3.1m high. Apart from these, the market place is studded with unique merchandise including selected wines, Plusteral fashion embedded with its unique tradition, linens which are handmade, feather beds and not to forget its mouth watering cuisine.
