Val Gardena is simply unique. This area is served by an ultramodern circular network of lifts around the astonishing Sella Group, a huge limestone massif surrounded by quaint mountain villages. The biggest of them is Selva Val Gardena or Wolkenstein in German. Apart from the main route a number of lift systems lead off from four main points. Generally speaking, the lift facilities rival those in the famous Three Valleys in France. Val Gardena has a splendid setting. Limestone cliffs protrude from gentle lowlands. There are very few black runs here. Most of the runs have a vertical drop of less than 300 meters. Val Gardena features a vast network of connected slopes, especially appropriate for intermediate skiers.
