Bardonecchia, Italy - ski resort review
Bardonecchia is located in Italian Alta Val di Susa, at an altitude of 1312 m. It was the 2006 Winter Olympics competition venue, and hosted the men’s and women’s giant slalom, half-pipe and snowboard cross. Bardonecchia has approximately 140 km of downhill slopes and some 20 cross-country runs. The resort comprises of two venues, a slalom run for alpine skiing and a snowboard run, which are situated 3 km apart. At Melezet, the Bardonecchia venues comprise of 23 slopes and the newly-constructed 24, with 23 being wide and fluid, suitable for slalom and snowboard cross, and 24 being used for half-pipe competitions. Beginners’ pistes are thought to be tough, and the majority of the slopes offer an intermediate ski experience.
