Alba di Canazei introduction
Alba di Canazei is a small resort in the Fassa Valley, situated in the Trentino Alto Adige province, Northern Italy. It is in the heart of the Dolomites, the beautiful Italian Alps. The resort is nice and quiet and it attracts people who like to live in stillness and peace and not far from amusements and facilities.
Alba di Canazei is one of the four hamlets of the Canazei town council and has preserved many monuments of the Ladin past. It is a paradise for winter sports, a few steps away from the ski area Ciampac surrounded by the mountain tops of Colàc, Crepa Negra and Cima Brunech in the Dolomites, offering many panoramic views of the Italian Alps. It is an ideal destination, providing a delightful experience both for top skiers and children. The Ciampac track is 3 kilometers long and is well known for its black track, but there is also a baby track for children. There are schools of ski camps, large slopes for every level, kindergarten and snow parks. Only one kilometer away from Alba is the Belvedere cableway, which is a way to the Sella Ronda, the famous skiing tour around the Sella massif, a pass through the four Ladin valleys. From Alba di Canazei in the direction of the Fedaia Pass one can reach the cableway to Pian dei Fiacconi, which offers a rich choice of unspoilt and interesting tracks. Departure from Ciampac takes in the Skitour Panorama whereas Canazei Belvedere takes to the famous Giro del Sella circuit. The Alba Ice Ring is at a short distance away and offers great opportunities for people who like ice-skating. Children will find in Alba di Canazei at their disposal a big fair with models of animals of all types and dimensions providing playing. There is also a hut where for watching cartoons. Alba di Canazei provides many services for skiing and fun for all sorts of tourists: skiers of different levels, families and children, and those looking for healthy air, relaxing and sun beams. There are many restaurants, shops, ski hire, pizzerias and a bank.
In spring, the area of Alba di Canazei turns into an attraction for the lovers of ski mountaineering, who can practice this sport until May. Although Alba is a center for recreation in the winter season, there are a variety of actvities it offers in summertime as well: walks in the woods, excursions at high altitudes, mountain bike, horse trekking, and ice skating.
