Canazei

Canazei is a large village situated at the height of 1465 m in the Fassa Valley, the Trento Alto Adige region, Northern Italy. It is a home of 1800 people, primarily engaged in tourism. It offers panoramic views of Marmolada, Sass Pordoi, Gran vernel and Sella in the Italian Dolomites. It is two hours and a half away from the Verona International Airport. On the technical level, Canazei is a very modern village with 13 lifts connected to the Sella Ronda ski cuicuit “Dolomiti Superski” with 175 km of pistes offering exciting mountain scenery views and mountain climbing. There is a choice of good nursery slopes for beginners before they progress to the easy wide tracks at Pecol. For intermediate skiers, there is a direct access to the Sella Ronda, cross country skiing through woods and fields, routes with other resorts to visit in the area such as Val Gardena, the Marmolada glacier and the compelling north slopes of Arabba.

Advanced skiers will find Canazei a very attractve skiing destination because of the challenge of the miles of pistes to discover and the Word Cup ski track in Val Gardena. Snowborders will find the true paradise of the terrin park above Canazei and the miles of pistes for high speed cruising. For non-skiers there are beautiful valley walks, paragliding on the glacier, ice skating etc. The facilities the resort offers include half pipe, ski school, a FIS ski run, open lifts, ski and snowboard rental and huts and a childcare centre.

Canazei invites to a variety of apres-ski activities. There is a good choice of restaurants, pizzerias, cafes offering meals at extremely reasonable prices: the Kaiserstube Pizzeria Italia, La Stalla, El Pael, El Cervena, The Stua dei Ladins, Montanara Bar, Giardino delle Rose, Lieber Augustin. There are plenty of unpretentious cheerful bars with modern and convivial atmosphere. The relaxing activities include a swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, excursions to Cortina for shopping and skiing, as well as footpaths for beautiful walks. One can have an amusing evening and dance at the Canazei Disco, attracting people from all the neighbouring resorts.
