The area of Carezza al Lago (1182 – 1600 m), also known as Lake of Carezza/Karersee, extends among high-altitude woods and pastures between the mountain chains of Latemar and the Catinaccio/Rosengarten up to the Costalunga pass. Carezza el Lago, thought to be one of Dolomites’ most beautiful lakes, stands some 6 km away from the resort of Nova Levante. During the winter, the Ski Area Carezza (1200 – 2350 m) reveals some 30 km of ski runs, the majority of which are set southwards, facing the terrace of Rifugio Paolina. The ski runs are geared towards families, and the resort has a reputation of being children-friendly. In summer, there is a vast range of excursions, horseback riding, paragliding, fishing, golfing and mountain bike. The Latemar-forest guided walk is not to be omitted.
