Moena is situated on an alluvial depression and is surrounded by the Dolomites, with the Costalunga pass lying in the vicinity. It is the largest inhabited village of the Fassa Valley. In winter, the San Pellegrino Pass and the Alpe di Lusia, located around Moena, offer an efficient area of lifts stations and good slopes. A further advantage is the well equipped cross-country ski area. During the summer, the village offers a wide range of nature walks, as well as several mountain-bike routes of varying difficulty. For the bikers, it is ‘the classical country’, as it houses the ‘Rampilonga’ route, the greatest bike marathon in Italy, annually attracting some 4,500 competitors.
