Monte Bondone is 15 km away from Trento, Northern Italy and has the popular name of Alpe di Trento; it is one of the oldest ski resorts in Trentino. When you reach Monte Bondone you are suddenly surrounded by a marvellous mountain environment, with majestic views opening over the region’s mountain ranges from Brenta to the Fassa Dolomites. The Monte Bondone ski season begins from December to April and the most convenient way to get there is to fly to Verona and then reach the resort. There are 19 runs in the Monte Bondone ski resort, which offer more than 20 kms of fantastic ski and snowboard opportunities and are suited mostly to meet the needs of intermediate skiers. Access to the runs is provided by six chairlifts and a drag lift. Downhill skiing may be practised along the gran pista. It is nearly 4 km long and is a source of great skiing experience through the pine trees, forests and fields, and is served by the Rocce Rosse ski-lift. There are great decents, various degrees of difficulty, while snow coverage is guaranteed by snowmaking equipment fed by the artificial lake at Malga Mezavia. Cross-country skiing is one of the many attractions of the resort. The Viote Cross Country Centre provides 35 km of trails for freestyle and classic skiers, all found in the sunny Viote valley at an altitude of 1565 m. The Centre provides a number of services such as ski schoools, ski repairs and waxing, toboggans, sledges, rental services for skis, a bar and a restaurant with free parking. This centre is a part of the Nordic Ski Cuircuit.
Beginners will find a choice of nursery slopes in Monte Bondone. The resort is excellent for snowboarders. The Monte Bondone Snowpark has an Olympic size and offers jumps, rails and snowcross. There is the Super Half pipe, which is 120 m long with 5,5 m high sides to give the most of the snowboarding experience. Monte Bondone provides snow shoe excursions as well, alone or in the company of experienced Alpine Guides, one may fall in search of animal tracks and enjoy the splendid views of the Brenta Dolomites.
Hotel establishments, private houses and apartment hotels in Monte Bondone are located at Candriai, Vaneze, Norge and Vason. You may need to visit Trento only 25 km away for a choice of bars, restaurants, pizzerias and night pubs. Monte Bondone is a famous winter and summer resort set in a typically alpine landscape with pine, beech and larch woods. It is ideal for relaxing walks and outings on horseback, for exciting mountain bike tours and climbing rocks. Monte Bondone is a marvellous place for breathtaking flights on parapentes and hang-gliders. If you choose Monte Bondone as your skiing holiday, you should not miss a visit to the alpine Botanical Gardens and the Integral Nature Reserve. There are also folklore evenings, paragliding, ice-skatig and monoskiing.
