The village of Pozza di Fassa (1320m), situated in the Fassa valley, offers its own cosy ski areas, along with strong influence of history and culture in the entire valley. Skiing in the Fassa Valley means an extensive choice of secluded ski areas for all standards. Some 75% of the slopes are for intermediates, while the remaining part is suitable for beginners. All pistes are well equipped with snowmaking facilities and modern lifts. From Pozza di Fassa, it is possible to reach the ski areas of Catinaccio and Aloch ski stadium, which offers night skiing experience. The area abounds in off-piste routes, such as Laste/Lusia, Vi Giumell, Sass Pordio/Val Lasties, but it is advisable to hire a mountain guide or join a ski school. Although off-piste routes are popular in the area, it is wise to go with a ski school class or employ a mountain guide for safety.
