Tesero

Tesero is connected to the central axis of the Val Di Fiemme, Northern Italy. It has 2500 inhabitants and is a very popular tourist destination because of its particular position in the middle between the cross country skiing centre at the Tesero Lake at 900 m, a place where the World Nordic Skiing Games were held in 1991, and the large skiing area of Predazzo and Obereggen and access to the Latemar Ski Centre. Built on a terrace in front of the Lagorai mountain range, Tesero is famous with its school of craftsmen, and is a home of the production of musical instrument as well as components furniture, such as door and window frame manufacturers. It is an important artistic and culture centre with a long history and traditions. There are several churches as places of interest as well as the characteristic frescoed houses, typical for this part of Italy. These are the Churches of San Rocco dating back to the 16 c. and the churches of Leonardo and Gottardo in the Gothic style. Tesero is an important tourist desitnation due to its favourable position: it is situated between the cross-country skiing center Lago di Tesero, the place where the Nordic Skiing World Champoinships took place and the grand ski centre Latemar. It is situated at an altitude of 1000 m and 48 km away from Trento.

Tesero is the place where ice climbing is very popular, there are special designed courses and people may reach the most beautiful falls. For intermediate skiers there is the free ride, wearing their own ski equipment they can take the ski lift up to the slopes of Mesdi and Lasties valley and Marmolada. Tesero is a nice place for cross country skiing as well, skiers can ride in different ares of the Dolomites and enjoy the varying in difficulty slopes. There are special courses in ski-mountaineering, they are for different levels and group excursions are organized to reach the most marvellous peaks of the Dolomites. Intermediate skiers can ride to Lago di Tesero, following the course of interesting trails, there are as well the 40 km of the Latemar Ski Centre, of which Tesero is a part. Tesero is a peaceful and quiet resort, ideal for beginners.

In summer Tesero is the perfect place for excursions on foot, for riding on hourseback or on a mountain bike, enjoying the unspoilt nature of the Fiemme Valley. In the heart of Tesero there is a sporting centre with a playground for children, an indoor bowling lawn, mini-golf course and a tennis court.
