Val di Sole introduction

This ski area extends for more than 50 km from Cavizzana to Passo Tonale. The Cevedale mountain region forms its northernmost border. Val di Sole is limited by the Presanella in the south. The economy is based on tourism to the greatest extent. Wood processing and cattle rearing also form a part. Climatic conditions in Val di Sole make fruit-growing possible.

Trient-Marilleva, the last electric railway in Italy, ran through Val di Sole in the early 20th century. Val di Peio and Val di Rabbi, places of note within Val di Sole, are part of the Stilfser Joch National Park. Founded in 1935, it is among the biggest conservation areas in Europe.
