Located at altitude of 1450m, Malga Ciapela represents a small but charming ski resort with panoramic alpine surroundings. Right in the heart of the Dolomites this village gives you direct access to the Marmolada glacier and the Marmolada summit, which can be reached also by the cable car. There are scenic districts at a close vicinity such as the villages of Arabba, Canazei and Corvara, which are also excellent points for skiing and other mountain sports. Winter activities
As an attractive ski destination, Malga Ciapela disposes with sufficient number of ski slopes, indicated for all abilities. From a total of 61km, the greatest part of runs is suitable for beginners and intermediates and mostly adapted to those that want to advance in the ski sport. Everyone will stay amazed by the excellent pistes of Marmolada (the highest mountain with an altitude of 3342m) and its natural splendor. You can reach its peak by the cableway and after that descend to Serauta or Punta Rocca. The “La Bellunese” track will impress most of the skiers with its length (the longest in Europe) and nice descend that goes from 3,300m to 1,500m. For diversifying the scenery you can try the pistes at Arabba, where to enjoy the 52km of downhill slopes and use it as a starting point to Sella Ronda with its prominent Four Passes route. Cross-country tracks, ice-skating rinks and snowmobiling tours are amongst the other activities available in the district.
Summer activities
Summer hiking provides unique emotions to the tourist, who has chosen Malga Ciapela as a holiday destination. There are strenuous itineraries and leisure routes, the cable car can save time and energy lifting you up to the alpine terraces with fantastic panorama to the surroundings. Mountain biking is another opportunity to move your body and discover the picturesque scenery around – there are enough tracks to choose from. At Marmolada you can take advantage of the three swimming pools, but since they are indoors, better go out for a promenade and take a bath at the alpine lakes or rivers under the sun rays.

Life is tranquil in this village and do not expect crazy disco nights or crowds of people on the streets. There are few hotels and residences, but you will be welcome with hospitality and warm attitude, wherever you stay. This is just the place where to take a rest at a peaceful atmosphere and if you still want to be in the middle of some lively place, the neighboring village of Marmolada can offer you restaurants, bars and discotheque in the evening.
